If you click the question mark, a pop up window opens with information on how to search using the system.
Most databases and search systems have some sort of help function like it. In LUBsearch, you come to the search help relevant to where you are when you click the question mark, so for example you get information on Basic Search if that is where you are when clicking. The search help section also explains, among other things, how to construct a search query and what the different search operators mean.
